First Brown Hyena sighting in our concession!

26/06/2008 10:54:03 AM

The cool dry nights have made night drives very productive and Porcupine, Bush pig, Caracal, Springhares and Genets are seen on most evening excursions. One evening earlier this month a very lucky group of guests were treated to the first ever sighting of a Brown Hyena right here in our concession! Tracks and other signs in the past have indicated that these shy predators do exist here but until now had managed to avoid being spotted. We hope to be seeing a few more in the coming days and weeks.

Other rare sightings this month include Aardvark, Striped Polecat and the first confirmed sighting of a Chinspot Batis.
